Unless I'm much mistaken, Reaper seems to be able to do that now.
So...is he running the tape deck SMPTE straight to Reaper as an audio track, without the Cooper sync box, and Reaper is reading the SMPTE off that audio track and as code directly...?
If the Cooper is is still needed...then it's MTC/SMPTE conversions.
I would think the audio interface would need a VITC or LTC code In connection...and not just the audio connection being fed with SMPTE for it to read the code directly....though I guess there could be some internal conversion that reads the incoming audio channel and takes the SMPTE directly...???
I'd be willing to bet Sony (soon to be Magix) Vegas reads SMPTE directly.
Yeah...not sure what Magix is going to do with Vegas at this time other than put their brand on it.
I mean...the development crew that works on Samplitude ProX and Sequoia has its hands full.
AFA the devs who were part of Sony...not sure how many came over with the Magix acquisition?
I use an older version of Vegas...and while it has the SMPTE display...I've not ever done any sync with other devices.
I just import the video and work ITB with Vegas editing the videos.
