The schematics designate colors for each conductor, so you can try and see if you can find matching colors in your cable, but you likely won’t be able to because Teac likely had the cable manufactured for them to their spec, so just pick whatever color for each conductor and then document what you did for future needs.

Hi Cory,

I have another question that might not need its own thread so I'm asking it here: the weirdest thing happened today with my 58. After using it a lot during the past months with no issues whatsoever, this morning I turned it on to dump a couple of tracks on it and it did not want to go into play mode, it stopped immediately. upon closer inspection I noticed that the capstan itself is turning clockwise!! This makes absolutely no sense to me, did you ever come across that kind of issue? Overheating maybe? It gets pretty hot where I am at this season. The capstan on my TSR8 runs correctly counterclockwise (I've checked just to make sure I wasn't crazy...)

Thanks, as always.

No clue.

And troubleshooting/repairing servo electronics is not in my wheelhouse.

Have you tried powering it down and leaving it down for a few hours for caps to drain and then power back up?

If it’s hot there it’s possible you have one or more component failures. Servo boards get hot. So if the problem persists it might be time to pull the servo board, which, I’m sorry to say, is a relative PITA. But I’m not going to be able to help with troubleshooting and repair. You may want to start a separate thread because your issue has zero to do with the topic of this thread.
