Sync issues

Not sure what the problem is here, it could be my soundcard, but when I record into a multitracking program such as Sonar 4 or Cool Edit Pro there is a slight delay in the recording making it slightly out of time. The delay is usually about 00.030 to 00.060 seconds depending on what audio drivers I'm using.

Any ideas?

It's called "latency," and minimizing it requires a high quality sound card with well-written drivers. What do you have?

Is the delay in the sound your a hearing in respect to what your playing or is the multracker actually recording late?
