SX Midi Controller problem

For some reason unknown to me when I run my controller through cubase not all the keys respond, and the keys that do respond change from soft snyth to soft synth.

for example on soft synth X, keys A and F will not work, but then on soft synth Y, keys C D and E will not work.

I'm using an Edirol PCR 30 as my controller, and an M audio fast track ultra for my interface, I've also tried running straight through usb.

Sometimes the working keys will work with latencey, other times not.

Any Ideas?

Sounds like the controller may be sketchy. Easy way to check it is to download midiox and confirm that it is sending what you are pressing. If you get intermittent send with midiox then the controller is the issue, if not, then you have a Cubase issue.
