hey guys. i know it soudns lame, but id really liek to get some answers on this. it would mean alot. thanks.... i just need a hand, is there any bundle i can buy that will let me start using protools right away. if so what is this bundle called, so i can look it up? ive seen some protools stuff online that i was thinking of getting, but do i need to buy the hardware separate?

lastly will my fp10 by personus work as an audio interface?

I suggest you read the FAQ sticky.

Any Pro Tools LE interface will come with the software you need. This would be an Mbox 2 (any of) or one of the 003 Family.

If you purchase an M-Audio interface with the intention of running it with Pro Tools M-Powered, you will need to purchase the software separately. The only exception being the M-Audio Project Mix I/O.

Your FP10 will not work with Pro Tools.

thank you very much for your help. i guess i need to find an 8 to 10 input interface for protools. lol

ok the protools page isn't helping on their site. any one care to tell me the bundle name / product name of a protools kit that allows at least 8 inputs and comes with everything i would need? is there two separate things id have to buy together to make this work. im sorry but im very very new to this. and ive never needed hardware built just for teh daw before so im a bit lost lol

How about reading the FAQ at the top of the Pro Tools forum?!?!

It has answers to most of the things you're asking..

it's actually really simple.
If you want to purchase an all in one unit...you'll need to look at Pro Tools LE packages. Such as the ones on this page:
http://protoolsforum.com/ProToolsLE1.html (note some of the newest interfaces are not listed on that chart).

If you're wanting to run 8 simultaneous inputs at a time...you'll want to take a look at the 003/003R (or the 002, but those aren't sold brand new anymore). If you buy brand new this will come with Pro Tools LE.
If you would prefer the M-Audio devices...there are a lot more combinations to choose from:
Firewire 1814
Profire 2626
Delta 1010LT
Project Mix I/O
NRV10

and probably some newer ones not listed on that page. But then you'll need to purchase Pro Tools M-Powered separately.
Make your decision based on the features you like on the interfaces.

Can I suggest you meant the Profire 2626 not the Audiphile 2496? The former has up to 18i/o with Pro Tools M-Powered, whereas the latter has 4 i/o.
