Hello,
I recently purchased a humbucker and new pickguard to replace my single coil pickup in the bridge position. I know many of you people are against putting humbuckers on strats, but that is the path I have decided to take. I have been told that all you do is unsolder the original pickguard and the solder the humbucker in it's place. Is there anything else I should know about?
Also, one more question. The pickup I bought is a used DiMarzio and is fairly old (late 70's). I got it cheap so I am not too worried if it does not work well. But I was just wondering, over time do pickups start to lose their effectiveness?...if that is the word I am looking for.
This site is an amazing help, thanks a lot!
