Hi Folks. I love the Sonar interface, but I have so much buggy trouble with Sonar, that I have went a head and purchased cubase sx. I have a few questions that I hope will be answered, and it will make my transition much easier.
First, in Sonar, I could take a midi file from the net, open it, and then hit "file, then Info, and it would tell me the name of he song. I needed to do this, because if the name wasn't in that info screen, then there would be no file name show up on our keyboard. When I would go in there and put the song name in, then save it, then the song name would show up on our keyboard when we load the floppy disk in. So, how do I do this in Cubase. Where do I put the name of the song in and save it with the midi file so that it will show up when a keyboard plays it. Like I said, in Sonar, I just hit file--info--and it had a place for the title.
Second, I would like to use soundfonts and render my midi files to wav for use live on an mp3 player. With Sonar, I simply loaded up a software synth like virtual sampler, or live synth pro, and loaded my GM soundfont file, then hit export to wav, and it would render my song using the soundfont. I do not have a creative card, but as I said, I do have virtual sampler. Are there any other vst synths that allow the loading of soundfonts without using a creative card?
That's about it for now, But I am sure I will have plenty more questions. Thanks in advance.
