Getting better
Anyone out there have one or use one? Like a lot of folks, I'm in the market for a $500-$600 single channel pre that would be my "gold channel" for vocals. (Have a DMP2 for stereo/acoustic gtr needs). I'm thinking Brick, Safe Sound, Joemeek SixQ or mebbe OneQ.....

But Summit, which tends to make much more expensive units, has this one around $600. Anyone have any thoughts??

I really like mine, but I haven't used those other units.

It can go from very clean to quite colored.

Do you use it on vocals specifically?

Also, do you increase the color by using the tube output? Is there a way to adjust the tube "color" based on level or volume?

Yes. I use it on most of my overdubs.

To make it sound more tubey, you turn down the solid state input stage and turn up the tube output stage.
