Hey guys,
I am in the market for a decent 61 key midi-controller keyboard. I know I would like Weighted keys. But Im not sure if I can even get that in a plain midi-controller keyboard. Other than that I want something that is nice and plain. I dont want a shit-ton of knobs and stuff all over. I realize a that they are all gonna have some stuff on them.
So can anyone reccommend a nice decent midi-controller keyboard with weighted keys?

I can't say that I've run across any boards with 61 weighted keys... unless I'm completely wrong, most companies only use the weighted action on their 88 key models.

How much are you looking to spend, and what are you going to be using it with? That might give the rest of us a little more info to help you on your search.

Well, I will be using it with Reason 4. and Protools. I personally dont see a need for a full 88 key kb but i do want weighted keys. I was hoping to spend between 200.-350. ish?

I completely understand... I would recommend checking out some of the boards that have the "semi-weighted" action then, just to see if it comes close to weighted at all.

I'm picky about my action too, so I completely understand. I prefer the feeling of non-weighted keys, but they have to have a reasonable amount of resistance, or they start driving me crazy!

Soldierone...do you have any other personal reccommendations?
If Im buying basically a midi controller/keyboard is there anything I need to look out for? I am only looking to use the keyboard to trigger samples thru reason and Protools. I am looking for something cheap in price but not cheap in design.

Also on a sidenote. Why is that it seems they can make a excellent sounding organ or strings or anything but they still make crappy/digitally/tingy/artificial sounding piano? I have heard some from the Abbey road keyboard pack and the standard ones that come with reason. I still think my ensoniq esq-1's piano sounds better...
