Gone
Holy shit things are starting to get tight...
Last night I believe after processing all submissions there was 183MB left to fill....then today I got 90MB worth and there are at least 4 more floating around out there...oh, and mine too. Crap. I'm going to submit crawling with the ants (1MB) in hopes of being able to use it to fill up some end space....otherwise I might just not submit for this one.
The worst thing that could happen is that we go 1 byte over 2 CD's
I've learned something valuable from this comp cd that I didn't really have to deal with last time....SPACE IS MONEY.
I might have an interesting idea for next year: per minute submission fees. If we assume it's 550 to press a CD, then it costs just over 7 dollars per minute. Thus, we could have a 3 minute minimum of $21 and then $3.5 for each 30 seconds over 3 mintutes. Something like that. If pre-orders don't start picking up too then the submission fee might have to be even higher since it doesn't cover jacket printing or jewel cases.
The average submission size this time around WAS about 3.3 to 3.5 minutes after 20 submissions, but then right at the end these huge 5,6, and 7 minute recordings started rolling in and the average is approaching 4 minutes.
