Stupid question: What cables to use from devices to patchbay?

Well, the title pretty much explains the question. I wondered what cables I should use to connect everything TO the patchbay, of course not the patchbay cables. I thought regular instrument cables, but beeing this a specialized world, I wanted to know what brands and types you are all using.

I'm using patchbay cables.

Ok, but the length from my mixer and outputs of my soundcard to the patchbay is about 4 -5feet, are there patch cables that long?

Just get a bunch of 6ft cable - TRS if your patch bay supports it.
