Well I got my 34b tascam friday that ups delivered and I opened the box up and there was a beutiful recorder with two layers of bubble wrap in one box that was also to big for the recorder.
It hit hard enough to crack the back feet and the back panel. It didnt look to bad so i thought well maybe its ok.
Wrong. As soon as I plugged it in the machine went in to rewind all on its own and wouldnt stop.
So I took the back panel off and there was a big whole in the back of the main circuit board. Beyond repair.
I ask the people to pack it well but you know how that goes.
When i called the lady that sold it she said well it was packed in two boxes wasnt it. Ah No. I replied. So she says I will get my money back.

We will see.
Another beutiful machine down the crapper :(

So sorry to hear that! I gotta tell you though ... the issue should be with the STUPID people that packed the unit and not UPS. Sure they toss these like hot cakes sometimes but most shipping companies do! I've lost some gear (sent by UPS and others) due to very poor packing and I mean POOR! When someone puts a 50LB recorder inside a box or even two with 2 layers of bubble wrap then you're asking for trouble. These MORONS have to pack like the thing is gonna be dropped from 10 feet! That's how I packed a 34B I sold. There was the 34B normal packaging with the styro inside one box, then I put it into another box with more than a foot of various packing materials on all sides. Finally I made sure it wouldn't be loose inside. Some eBayer's are just HORRIBLE sellers. Make sure you not only ask for your bid amount refunded but shipping to and from. You do not need to pay a cent for someone's incompetence! Let us know how it went.

Good luck,

Daniel

That's a shame Herm... :(
I had the same thing with a 32, seller used newspaper on the bottom, no wrap around the deck and of course the whole plastic cabinet cracked, even the frame got bent in shipping.
I think some sellers don't give a sh*t.
Hopefully you get the money back.
