I was wondering if anyone ever made the comparison... What do you think?

BTW, I tried to find a thread posted not so long ago but couldn't find it... Someone was saying in the thread where to find Studiophiles SP-8b's for 299,99 a pair... If anyone happen to know where, let me know! (Damn... That makes a lot of 'know' in one sentence :D)

the last musician's friend had them stuck in the back pages this time. call them and see if they still have them on sale.
 
Well I have exactly the same question as both NMs seem to get very positive comment /regarding pro level/ in this forum,
so hopefully someone who heard/ experienced both will write a comment, thank Hugo
 
DD That link is for the sp-8s subwoofer. The SP-8Bs are not listed online at MF anymore. However, in the latest issue of Musician's Friend, they had the 8Bs on the BACK few pages still listed at 299.00. Maybe they have a stash they are trying to get rid of. You may have to call them and refer to the catalogue stock #.
 
I am holding the newest MF catalog, and the Sp8s are back there for $299/pair.
Now at the bottom of the page it also says, limited quantities so
order today, but that's what they all say.
These catalog prices are good 11/30/02.

My friend just bought the Yorkvilles, and he likes them, Ihave not heard either of them, but for $299, the MAudio SP8s could be a sweet deal.

i just bought a pair of them about two weeks ago. basically anywhere you go has them for 299. i got them at Guitar Center, but I'm sure Sam Ash and any other store has them for the same price- if not a lot of them do price match, just bring in a ad or something. i dont know much about monitors, but they sound pretty damn accurate compared to "stereo" speakers and headphones. and they're pretty small, so not a lot of space is taken up.

whoops, nevermind that reply, i got the SP-5B. my bad dudes. I guess the 8's are an old model or something?
