i'm curious about the TB1... is anybody using one of these? I noticed that the older model TB1 was in a casing about the size of the b1 and now it's about the size of the C1. I was wondering if there are any major changes.

I think SP doth protest too much, and does a deservice to it's reputation and products to engage in the kind of name calling we've seen here.
Your mics are not for everyone. Period.
A C1 is *not* as accurate as an 87. Period.
This doesn't make it a bad mic.

This has nothing to do with SP mics. You obviously haven't been around here long. Alan Hyatt Hatfield and DJL McCoy have been going at it for several years, as a result of family grievances that started over 100 years ago. Most of the family have let bygones be bygones, but these two will fight it out to the bitter end.krs said:I'm a complete outsider here, and a fan of SP products in general. krs said:That a C1 is as good or better mic than an 87. I judge a mic on it's accuracy, not it's usefulness in some applications. Shure would never make this type of ludicrous statement about their products, despite the fact they have an arsenal of awesome, useful microphones. It's about responsible marketing.
Sorry to keep this going, I'm really happy you love your C1, I love mine too. (But please just don't tell me it's as accurate as an 87)

krs,
I'd be interested in your definition of accuracy as that is very much a blanket statement. One which I feel may have a few moth holes in it.

Thanks for the kind words... and don't worry, if they put too much heat on you for posting your opinions... I'll put my flame proof suit back on and jump in and take the heat for you.krs said:I'm a complete outsider here, and a fan of SP products in general. How do you think the C1 sounds outside the context of any Neumann comparisons?
