Well I can't speak for anyone else, but I was actualy happy to see that you were responding respectfully and even kindly to posts about SP products. Unfortunately I think your past posts have left Alan a little wound up and he's lashing back at you now - can't say I blame him. I still think it was very unprofessional of him to stoop to name calling, but he was/is very upset with you and on a message board, there's not much else you can do.

I don't understand why anyone is attacking anyone....and really I don't see the point at all. We're all talking about microphones...devices that we all love. So why all the hostility? Yes some microphones are better than others....but they're all cool and fighting about them is retarded.

Don - the reason Alan is so upset with you is that you have in effect, insulted his "babies." His microphones are very near and dear to his heart I would imagine, and he is very proud of them as he should be. When you have made negative comments about them in the past, it has been like you were insulting one of his children...that's why he is so upset.

Alan - the reason Don has been so agressive in the past is that he has been the single voice of dissent. He has been ganged-up on and told to shut up many times. Think of it as backing someone into a cyber-corner. You may not agree with him, but let him speak his mind. If you really want to improve your customer base, try to understand Don's complaints about your products and address them directly instead of getting defensive. Most people here (pretty much everyone actually) think Studio Projects are great mics, and amazing mics for the price. You have no reason to get defensive. When someone challenges Studio Projects products, just point out that for they cost, there are very few other products that are can compare in quality and sound.

So yeah....this back and forth banter has been fun to watch, but I think at 200 posts or so, we should get back to out regularly scheduled program of talking about the best mic for under $50 or something....

Hey thanks for taking the time to post your view... I have some comments about the 797 Audio/Studio Projects mics being Alan's babies and etc... but, let me soak in everything you just said and listen to what others here have to say first.

Thanks again for your input,
Don

I've been trying to keep my word by not flaming Alan, and up to this point PMI/Alan Hyatt has been the one doing all the name calling, sick slander, and etc... but, it seems many of you here may like me more if I were to act more like PMI/Alan Hyatt by posting sick remarks, lies, personal attacks, and etc... is that what you all want from me, is that what you all want me to do too?
This whole "DJL versus Alan Hyatt", or "Alan Hyatt versus DJL" stuff is disgusting to me.

I think everybody here gets it by now, as far as DJL's position on PMI/Alan Hyatt, and Alan's thoughts about DJL. How many times are we gonna whip this dead horse? We get it. DJL doesn't like Alan; Alan doesn't like DJL - does that about cover it?

PMI makes some decent low priced mics and their customer service is excellent; we all agree on that. Some people think they're as good as Neumanns; some people disagree. To somebody that's buying an SP mic, they aren't a Neumann customer. If they're not happy with it, they can get most of their money back by selling it on ebay.

To both Alan and DJL: Give it a rest, guys. We get it.

As some of you may know, I am a father of eight. The eldest is 19, the 'baby' is 4. I mention this not to claim some inate 'higher' knowledge, but rather to establish the foundation of my following comments.

As the children march through adolescense they seem to grow increasingly disaffected and unhappy. I kind of think this is a function of puberty. I asked my eldest, before she enlisted in the Army, on a scale of 1 to 10, how happy was she. She answered -1. I then asked her what it would take for her to be happy. This really stumped her, but after some reflection she responded that moving out of the house would make her happy.

It didn't by the way, but that is not the point here.

What would Don have to do to make Alan happy? What would Alan have to do for Don? This is going to have to end sometime. Why not now??

This has been tried before, but as you can see just a few posts ago where DJL says, "many of you here may like me more if I were to act more like PMI/Alan Hyatt by posting sick remarks, lies, personal attacks" and I have some comments about the 797 Audio/Studio Projects mics being Alan's babies and etc... but, let me soak in everything you just said and listen to what others here have to say first.

So no matter what I try to do, and many of you here have seen me offer and extend the hand of truce on three separate occasions. The problem is, DJL then puts his coy mood on and makes the same digs in another way.

So, maybe it is best to ban both DJL and myself so you guys don't have to put up with this shit. I have tried to ignore him, but I must defend myself and my company from his lies, accusations, and personal attacks.

This will be my last post on this thread. I will move on and hopefully DJL will not start it over again on other threads, yet I suspect he will.....

Jesus! How many times will this feud be repeated? I thought it had been sorted ages ago and everyone had agreed to disagree?

Could we get a moderator to close this thread? This recording forum is no place for either DJL or Alan to carry this on. In my opinion, it is pretty sick. I have my opinions on who is wrong and right, yes. But should we go over it again? NO. It has been said and done and now should be laid to rest.

Again.

Alan, sick slander is no extend hand of truce.

Maybe it would be best when Alan don't respond at all to anything Don says. We all know what happens over and over.

Don, the same goes for you.

This has been tried before - there is no moderator here. If there were, most of this crap would never have happened.

And here comes the PMI support team with the flame throwers and etc... Lord help anyone on this mic forum who doesn't think SP mics rule.

Thanks for reminding me why I rarely visit this forum these days.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

I was thinking about how a while back I read someone asking about Studio Projects mics and stating they were going to buy one mainly because they had not read any opposition... and I believe part of the reason why there was no opposition was because some people may be afraid to post their opinion or just don’t think it’s worth getting flamed or discredited over it.

Take for example... note in this thread how as soon as Ronan posted his opinion, views, and experience with Studio Projects mics he was questioned by PMI... and was somewhat attacked. I’ve seen many more examples of this happening in a lot of threads and on many forums. I may be wrong, but I bet there are a lot of other people here who tend to agree with Ronan but are afraid to speak up or just don’t think it’s worth getting flamed or discredited by PMI over it.

Harvey and wheelema... thank you for your input... I'm going off line now to soak in your views.

Thanks again,
Don
