Studio design question....

Hi all,

I'm working with a carpenter to build a recording studio in my garage.

He says he has built a recording studio before.

One of the ideas he has is to put boards across all the corners of the room. This would get rid of all the 90 angles in the room.

Does this make sense. I realize that all the bass goes to the corners. Will this work?

For instanse if the L above was a corner he is talking about putting a board from the top of the L to the bottom of the L to get rid of the corners in the room.

Does this make sense?

I have built two garage studios...

The corner idea is interesting, but Be sure that first you build new walls within the existing structure. This is known as the "Room within a Room" method. It really works believe it!

1st insulate and finish the original garage walls. If not already done. Then leave a 2" to 4" space of dead air between the old walls and the new ones you build. Isolate the floor with neoprene pads.... you know so all the studio is free floating, to eliminate low freq. sound transfer.
