hey everyone, i just got a warehouse for my band to practice in and it also happens to be layed out as a studio. There is a control room with a space for a window and then a main room. There was also already foam on the walls etc. anyways i have some questions as to where to start with things.

i basically don't have anything yet. so i need to get all the recording equipment.
1. I am not exactly sure how i want to record but i think for now because of budget, i want to record into an analong mixer convert it to digital and then have it go to a computer. any good suggestions with setup? im really confused with this casue there is so many ways to go. I'll post a layout of my studio soon so you can get a better idea of what im working with.

2. im probably going to get a 24 channel mixer. Im not sure what this is called or where to get it, but i want to get one of those things where when you are micing things in the studio, you can plug the mic cord into the wall and its patched into the mixing board in the control room.

3. ive been looking at the hr824 mackie for moniotrs. I have this marantz stereophonic reciever model 2225. i think its 200 watts. I was wondering if that could be used to power passive speakers if i got them. What are some passive speakers.

4. How do you set it up so that a guitar player can sit in the control room and record while a mic is recording his amp in the paly room of the studio. and without having a real long cord going from one room to the next.

Thank you very much for any answers. any good studio builidng advice is greatly appreciated

5. What is a good computer or computer company for one that is just going to be used for recording.
