I really haven't bought anything yet. Mostly just been using other people's stuff. I've just been reading a hell of a lot, and listening to everything I can, and working on developing my ears better. It's kinda sad because the more you learn the less you know, and you really realize how shitty most of this prosumer stuff is. I'm planning on getting a job at radiostation or something, where I can meet people that will help further my career, if you can even call it that. Knowing people is all that matters anyway right? ;)

So no, I haven't decided yet. ;)

The best thing to do is to buy one thing at a time. Start with deciding what type of basic recording to go for (computer, reel-to-reel, digital HDR or DAW), and get what you need to record, i.e. the recorder/mixer, a microphone and a preamp and go from there.
You'll soon discover what next to get to improve your sound.

I need three network cards, one for my other computer, and two to network to that computer, and another one.

The rambus 256mg memory is the ram, rambus 800mhz, instead of ddr which is 266mhz.

Ill check out that other stuff. And the processor i put on there is an intel. I don't like AMD much, so intel's the one left, although im starting to like the P3's more than the P4's. The cache is too big and takes a long time to empty out.

Thats funny I am the opposite..Every Intel based computer I have used has been garbage.

Why exactly do you need such an expensive computer when one for half the price will run music stuff fine???

Nevermind I took a half hour and read the thread...Lots of good stuff in here...
