If you're not too invested, you might look at something like the Zoom R16. I've done computer based recording, and just recently got the Zoom. The Zoom is certainly less powerful from an editing standpoint, but it is about 10 times easier to learn. You could be recording acoustic guitar tracks in about 2 minutes. You can do enough editing to get by, and there are plenty of built-in effects for guitar and voice to keep you going for quite a while. If in the future you learn your way around the software you own, you can always import the tracks in and edit them with the computer.
Your frustration level would decrease exponentially.
