strat standard?

whats the electronics and neck like on the strat standards? I'm thinking I'd replace the pickups with either 57/62s or custom 69s. Would I want to replace the pots? What about the bridge? If i cranked the tremolo all the way down since I don't plan on using it, will that negate having to get a new bridge? Hows the neck compared to some of the mexi models?

Standards are Mexican. Are you talking about the American Series/ used to be American Standard?

I realized this stupidity after i posted haha So I shall clarify I was wondering if the necks on the standards will be as nice as some on the more expensive MIMs (Deluxe Player, classic 50s)
 
In a word, no. The finish is different, you won't get the rolled edges, and the nut is noticably narrower (true of nearly all of the imports).

This is one of the things I really like about my Xaviere, it has a full US-dimension neck. It has some minor issues, but nothing that affects peformance, and it's under $250 shipped with a HS.
