Hey guys,

If you had a choice to buy either a stereo pair of KSM 137s or Studio Project C4s for the same price, which would you choose??
Also I had found a pair of KSM 141s for not too much more but missed out on that ebay bid...I am tempted to try and wait for something like that to come around again, but not sure if the KSM 141s will do much more for what I am trying to do?

Here's what I'm doing:
I am going to be recording grand piano in a nice living room...the room sounds quite good, but still a little echo going on...not sure if recording omni would be a good idea. But it will be mostly classical type pieces, although will be doing a variety of stuff, whatever comes up.
And then most importantly I would like to use the stereo pair for acoustic guitar recording on occassion too.

Please give me some advice here!
Thanks

This is easy....the KSM137.
If you don't buy them please pass them on to me!!!

I have never used the KSM137 to record a piano, but it is a mic that is very clean, clear and true. it's not exciting, but for a lot of things you'd use them for you don't want exciting....you just want to hear the instrument.

I don't think you need the extra pattern for your purpose, but you never know.

The C4s don't compare IMO.

FWIW, the KSM137 supposedly are made after Shoeps mics.
