Starting out.

Well, I'm a beginner and have no idea what I'm doing. Being 16, I don't really have the money to buy any real equipment. The only thing I do have is a stereo that can record tapes in stereo (right and left channels, I guess there isn't a middle channel). I guess I just need a ton of help!

Well....where to give you a start.

No, what you have can't give you a "pro cd"
Can it give you a demo...yes

Are your tunes good, mediocre, great?
Are your chops in order?

Get a kickass band together, practice, practice, practice. Give up on dates, Friday nights are for practice, and work on your signature style.

If you have a dream go for it!!! Again NO, what you have will not get you any tracks, it may however get you a contract. Better yet get in contact with some of the more noble people on the site and lay down some good tracks.
