I guess this is probably a tad expensive for most, but seems like a preeeeetty interesting item. Seems a pair of these might be the ticket for the home recordist and a couple of vintage Neve and Urie items....and some mics... monitors....etc....!!!

actually kinda supprised I suppose, that no one else has posted or asked any questions regarding this item yet.

A friend of mine with a studio located just 2 miles west of me has 16 channels of SSL...smooth sounding board...funny he has an avalon in the rack that he likes to use for vocals.

Assuming that it sums like an SSL mixer, I could see it as being very valuable to add the SSL sound to the 2-buss ... ASsuming that one had that kind of money (yikes!).

Psssst... mixmkr... it's UREI short for "United Recording Electronics Industries"... you might want to make a note of it.

I haven't heard this version of the SSL strip... but the Logic FX G383 was kinda cool sounding. It kinda surprised me how good one of those channels can sound when you get it out of that shit eating desk... I would guess the new one would be somewhat the same... though when you look at where else you can spend that kind of money and the things you can get for that kind of money it might give you pause for consideration that a lot of what you're purchasing are the letters "S-S-L"... I mean let's face it... they went into the outboard module business with a vengeance because the large frame console market is in the shitter...

thanks for the tip, Fletcher. Owning a pair of their time aligns, you'd think I could get the spelling right:p

I tend to agree, you are probably paying toooo much for the name, but then I'd suppose that could be a decent draw for the home recordist who wants to pull in a couple of extra sessions also to help pay for it!! But, when you pay for supposedly the "best" (if you know what I am trying to say...), you also pay for it too.

You'd know more about market sales on large format desks I'd also suppose, but seems that with PLENTY of high end studios that need channels, there will be still a decent demand for a large console.....albeit, not what it was 20 years ago.
