Goal: to gang two mics to one channel via a cable splitter (for live recording, to reduce channel inputs). Both mics are condenser types requiring phantom power.
Is this possible using a splitter, and if so, who makes it, and where to find?

Gracias.

I 've done with dynamic mics with the a.r.t splitcom. But there is no phantom power. However if there is phantom power on your mixing board /micpre it Should work. There has got to be one out there with the 48+ somewhere.

isn't the ART for sending one signal to two different places?? not two signals to one place like I think he wants.

i'm not sure if what you want to do is possible with just a cable. you MIGHT be able to solder two XLR females together on another cable, but i'm guessing you'll probably lose audio quality, might run into problems, and phantom power might cause you troubles. I've never done it though, so I can't say for sure.
Why not buy a small 2/3 channel mixer? ARTs got one for $75.

What mixer? Does it have both mic and line inputs on any single channel? I think the safest way to try this would be to use an external mic pre for one mic (going into the line in of the mixer) and the mixer's pre for the other (going into the mic in). If you can plug both in, and hear both signals, then it's just a matter of balancing the two level-wise. EDIT: this is assuming the mixer has phantom.
