i have heard this done before, but i am really not sure how to go about it. i hope i can explain it. the music is going along, all the sudden it sounds like it slows down, then stops, like someone is messing with a scrub wheel. then it starts again. i want the pitch to go down with it. i can do this with my software by pulling the scrub knob to the left. not sure how i can automate this. anyone ever done this? i have vegas 4, acid 3, and sound forge 5.

Good question for Chessrock. He did it with the song on the mix contest.

There is a freeware or shareware thing called "Scratchdown" that will do what you are looking for. It is a VST plugin.

Can't remember who makes it and there is no URL info in the GUI. Give me a PM if you can't Google it up.........

there is the link to scratch down!

but i dont think thats what the effectyour looking for... cause thats more like a scratch effect..
if i am not mistaken by your request.. thatyour looking for turntable that litterally stops dead.. and then turns back on again?!?!?! like for example in that pepsi commerisal wiht shakira..or what ever her name is!

i have done that effect manually wiht a sound edit program... and soundforge may work for you... just select the portion of the song where you want the drop to be.. picture in yoru mind that when you slow record player down to a full stop that there isnt really alot iof music happeneing.. so you dont wanna highlite to much of the sound

so then after that you go into adjust pitch.. and use the bend graph to adust it.. and make a quick drop in the pitch.... but go down in to the farther octives.. cause when you hear something slowing it down.. it pitches down to the really low... that worked for me.. and i was surprised how kewl it sounded

tho you can try that effect scratch .... that may do what you want ! :)
