Hi,
I'm finishing to repair this machine. It works almost completely except that I can't use a normal square belt for the main tape transport.
Philips used a cheap design using a belt shaped like |>: a flat side and a half square side.
The flat side engages toward the reels in fast rewind and fast forward mode, and the V side goes into the rest.
Obviously, a square belt will not rewind: due to the very uneven contact with the left reel, it will eventualy jump, filp and generate all sorts of troubles.
Philips put a large sketch showing the section of belt to be used (check attached picture).
Anyone knows where I can find this belt ?
