Hi All,
I have a small studio set up at home, ever since I replaced the small mixer, my studio speakers are now popping (pretty bad and worrying) whenever I turn them off, always one more severe than the other. Here is my setup:
Two Samson Flat Response Speakers, Samson Resolve 80A's.
Behringer Xenyx 1002FX Mixer. (NB: This mixer is constantly power on, no off switch, I turn the rest of my studio off, but the mixer stays on permanently).
Delta 44 sound card with break out box.
I have two output leads coming out of 1 and 2 on my breakout box, into tape in L/R (1/2). Sound then goes out of my mixer through control room out L/R to my speakers.
I have cables coming out of lines 7/8 and 9/10 back into my breakout box for recording purposes. Hardly used.
I turn my PC off, turn all faders down, knobs left on my mixer, turn my speakers off, pop/POP. Please remember, when I had my old mixer Behringer UB1204, I used to turn that off too, no popping, I'm thinking it's got something with the constant power still coming out from the mixer being constantly on? Keeping the signal warm/alive?
I think, that's a big THINK, I heard them pop when I switched off the light the other night, but I've been switching the light on and off constantly without a sound.
Everything runs through one power board behind the desk.
Something to do with balanced, unbalanced cables?
It's got me, so, any assistance in the matter would be greatly appreciated, maybe you've had this problem with a similar setup in the past?
Eagerly awaiting
Thanks guys,
Regards,
Jeff
