soundproofing help

well in my basement i have got 2 of these the folding blue chairs. how should i position these around my drumset to help with soundproofing?

i dont understand......your trying to soundproof....using 2 chairs? its impossible.................

the only thing you can do with those chairs is position them in certain ways to tame the room as far as acoustics and "real room" reverb........

you cannot soundproof the room....but you can "deaden" the reverb acoustics a bit if you place them just right.

i dont know what yuo have in your base ment already ( type of florring, walls, curtains?, obsticles hanging on the walls or flooring....etc...)..........buy you might want to start by drumming a bit and listen to the room acoustics...........then take your 2 chairs and place them at the far end of the room, one chair in each corner. now play your drums again, and listen to what it does the the acoustics of the room, or if it deadened the room a bit. then try moving the chairs around in differnt spots to see what happens to the sound of the room.

thats about all you can do with 2 chairs................. :confused:
 
Drive the chairs about 20 miles from your basement. Sit on one. You won't here a note from the basement.
 
Anyway, If u r in ur basement U should have alot of junk like maybe boxes and a couch which are perfect for recording. It kinda, well actually it really does like how high the ceiling is and how your basement is set up. I like to record the drums with those removable foam or cardoard ceilings or whatever. It also helps if your drumset is in 1 part of your basement and there is some sort of walkway around. Make sure u have maybe a couch or a box or something in the corners to stop bass buildup and maybe wood or something behind u. Make sure ot to many people r in the room becuz the people and the clothes u wear make a difference. This is my first post and this site I got really helps.

For the person who neg repped me on this, not that I care, but it was a joke answer to what I thought was a joke question, to which you might notice practically everyone replied as a joke. There are people here who occasionally pose as a newbe, and post a rediculous question for a laugh. Apologies if this was actually a serious question, but that's like saying I have these two buckets, where should I place them to stop Niagra Falls.

Sleeper Studio Chair...Im not sure these Chairs are intended For Recording Studios....Maybe a One Bedroom Studio Apartment. Things in the room will certainly effect the sound in terms of reflection and absorbtion etc. They wont do anything for sound leakage.

The frickin little mosquito came back and bit me again after I explained that I thought it was a joke question. The first time they wrote "real mature", 2nd time no message.

Look mate, if you're concerned with how mature we are, be mature enough to sign your negative feedback, and mature enough to address the group at large and say why your knickers are all twisted.

I was playing music the other day and no matter how hard I strummed, now high I turned my Marshall up, no sound came out.

Then I discovered there were two Ikea chairs in the room.

I took them out and suddenly the room was filled with power chords.
