Soundproof 1 Wall In City Loft - Help

ok, sorry to interupt your technical conversations,
but ehm...might sound stupid,
what about covering the entire wall with matrasses,
even two layers of matrasses,
or even three walls
or will that only work as basstraps for a better sound and not insulation or it is completely useless...
i don't know, i've just started to read about insulation this year so i'm worse than a dummie...
