My brother sent me this software for xmas. I currently use Cakewalk. What can use I SoundForge for?

I've looked around for the vendor's website but without any luck. Looks like the obvious site names (www.sonicfoundry.com, www.sonic-foundry.com) are unrelated to the vendor. What's the correct web address?

Cakewalk and Sound Forge are a great combination to have.
I believe that version of Sound Forge only supports 16 bit audio files.
What version of Cakewalk are you using?

Good point. It cannot handle 24-bit files.

CW v9. What can I do in Sound Forge that I cannot do in CW or, say, audacity?

I liked the editing tools in SF Better. That could be a prersonal preference thing though. What you can do within CW is highlight your audio files and send them to SF from your CW menu. Then you can edit the clips, save them, and when you close the audio file in SF it will get updated in CW. One major warning, never cut anything from the begining of your wave file while in SF because the audio file will shorten when it returns to CW and then it will be out of snyc from the rest of your project. All you need to do is mute any unwanted audio from the begining of your clips. You can cut all you want from the end though.
