Sound quality on an erased tape?

I have a few tapes (that I purchased new originally) which really have some useless things I recorded on them a while back, nothing I will ever need.

I was wondering if I erased them, I have a tape eraser...and reused them for some mixes-would I be losing much in terms of sound quality vs using a new tape?

These would be actual "1 pass" tapes at that point.

The 3 tapes in question are 1/4":

456
407
and

assuming your eraser works as it should and you do it 'right' - then, practically speaking, nothing to worry about. :)
Having said that, if I personally would do some recordings that I REALLY REALLY care about, especially when recording two-track 'final' master/mix, I'd use the freshest I have brand new roll. It would just make me feel better :D

thanks, i agree about using new tape on important things too.

just having trouble finding 407 these days! :(
