I have a small portable digital recorder and I want to go out and about and record different sound effects. I'd like to get a decent mic without going broke that will pick up the sounds, especially directional. Anybody ever see that movie with John Revolting (Travolta) called Blowout? Something like what he was using where the mic picked up the noise or sounds but when he pointed the mic directly AT the sound it was much louder and all the surrounding noises were less present, if that makes sense. Anybody have any mic suggestions for accomplishing this small task? Thanks!
