Hi I just got a new toy, but I won't tell you what it is till later.
I just did a quick little recording here and I'd like your opinions on which clip sounds the best out of each set. Also do you think it is a miced amp or DI ?

Heres a little Hendrix

Heres some Kansas

thanks for listening

mp3 2 and 5 sound best to my ears... POD or J station?

#1 definately sounds best to me out of the Purple Haze group. The Dust in The Wind group is closer, but I like 6 best.

How do you like your V-amp so far? I've considered getting one.

I dunno, it's not at all hard to tell it's amp modeling. I'm gonna go against the grain here and say that I wasn't really crazy about any of the sounds. I've never used the Behringer thing, so I don't know if you just need to learn how to play with it, or what. I assume it's possible for you to tweak the settings rather than just relying on the preset sounds.

If so, I would start tweaking.

The V-amp pro is pretty is pretty cool, and is quite a bit cheaper than the rack mount pod. I was using amplitube before and I feel this is a step up. Although I havn't figured everything thing out, it's pretty simple to use. Hooking it up to the PC via midi and tweaking with the software is great. It also works great as a late night practice amp, it sounds pretty nice when you just plug in a pair of head phones.

Yah I don't know what any of these real amps sound like at all. I basically wanted something that would give me a variety of sounds without forking out thousands of dollars for many amp, and cab setups.

I havn't really done any tweaking yet, for those little clips I just pulled out the first not too distorted preset, and same with the clean one. But the software makes tweaking pretty fun, since I'm used to tweaking on a computer screan, and since I can store virtaully unlimited presets and have the ability to trade them with others.
