Please help, I've just bought a 750 MHz Duron with Sound Blaster Live (Value). I want to record the odd MIDI track to augment my own playing. This sound card has some pretty impressive MIDI sounds/Soundfonts etc., BUT I seem only to be able to get a sampling rate of about 32,000 Hz at max. before I get timing/lag problems. This is while converting one MIDI track to wave....no other tracks loaded!!! I've played with altering buffering, recording mono/stereo, playback mono/stereo etc. but no success.

I know fasoft state that with Soundblaster live's internal fixed 48,000 Hz sampling frequency, lag can occur if other frequencies are used due to the need for internal conversion. But I can't even get to 44,100 Hz, let alone 48,000 Hz(ie. 48,000 Hz dosen't work).

Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers, Gramps

Thanks hongteck for your "expert" reply !
(So what do exclamation marks mean at the end of a sentence?? A sensitive dude could take offence....??)

You lied ! <- the exclamation mark means i'm serious

I thought since there's no 'help' so far that you can bring your question to where are a lot more N-Track users at that forum including Flavio the one who writes the software who visits and responds to user's concerns too. My setup works alright. I don't have an answer to your problem, unless someone else has. All the best on that side .....

My deepest appologies hongtech, you were obviously sincere. My irritation at not getting what I want in my recording is spilling over into my correspondence?! I'll try fasoft, cheers, Gramps.
