I found one of these locally for a good price i pursume. Can't really find the specs on the net anywhere. I'm going to buy it, if i don't like it i'll return it. How can I tell the heads are clean? anyway to notice wear on it?

Anyone know the specs on it. From what i gather from looking at it.

2 unbalance RCA cables left/right
optical I/O, and coaxical I/O
33k 44k and 48k, I'm guessing its 16 bit right?

What is a good price for this?

They were about $800 new. I'd say $200 max (I have an A7 by the way. Nice piece of gear).

sweet, i'm getting it even cheaper then that!

Thanks alot. Whats the best way to clean it?

You can use a head cleaning cassette. I've used the type that you put a few drops of alcohol (not rubbing type but stuff ment for cleaning heads) on the "tape" and play it for 30 seconds). I don't really care for these. Better yet is to get head cleaner, rubber cleaner and swabs and go in to the machine and clean everything (tape guides, heads, idlers, etc) but you have to be VERY gentle as you can knock it totally out of allignment. It might not be a bad idea to take it some where and have a tech do it and also give it a once over.
