Guys, I just use SONAR XL couple months, no problem. Few days ago I get into weird WinXP's problem (... I dunno, I have no idea!) that leads me to reinstall the WinXP. I mean, uninstall EVERYTHING including the WinXP, and install it all over again. Now, SONAR only recognize my SB Live! DE 5.1 as a mono input sound card. I change the options to use MME driver, it works fine, but I still wonder why does it's original driver only recognize SB Live! input as mono ? any clue ? What should I do to get it Stereo ( Left & right ) ? Once everything seems okay before, but I don't remember the setting.
Thank's a lot !

James - this has come up several times in the past couple of weeks. You need to install the Microsoft drivers, rather than the Creative drivers.

Do a search, you should find the info you need.

Thank's,
I've heard about the drivers issue, but once the Creative's installed, it seems get sticky there. My Windows always "roll it back" to Creative's. I need Creative's AudioHQ to play around with SoundFont, uninstall Creative's driver will also uninstall it. Any suggestion ?

i've had the same problem, and when i switched to microsofts driver, it worked fine, and my audiohq stayed. are you changing the driver like this? :

Right click my computer. Go to hardware, then device manager

Expand the tree under Sound devices. Double click creative sb live (WDM).

Click driver tab. Then click update driver

at the screen, choose “install from list or specific location (advanced)”

next screen choose “don’t search..”

on my screen I have 2 drivers. One says creative, one says Microsoft. Choose Microsoft.

also, i had the drivers and programs installed from the win2000/nt cd that came with the computer. i dont remember what happened when i tried to do the winME cd but it must not have worked.

so make sure you have the win2000 stuff installed (Drivers/audioHQ/whatever other programs come with that.. its a little diff then then winme cd). then change the driver with those instructions. it'll work fine.

or get those other drivers that someone recommended. i was gonna do it but decided not to bother cause of the bugs listed on their site. tell me how they are if you use them

I've seen this fix described several times here. I've the same problem, but I never get the Windows driver as an option. It only shows the plain Creative one.

Any help? Running Win2000....

As long as the card is a Live!-card, there really shouldn't be no problem, but if it's a Audigy-card, Microsoft haven't made drivers for it yet...
