Well,well....it looks like I may have to check out that darn ol' console view again when I upgrade.  :p :D

Where did you get these "screenshots"? How come I can't find any info about Sonar 3.0? Is this bullshit?

I got those in my email a few days ago. It looks very Project5-ish. :)

Same here, got this in an email from a friend with good connections. I hope it's not bullshit because it looks very cool.

Other features:
-A new Gui
-Assignable insert effect control knobs right in your console view
-Busses that can assign to busses
-New plugs (which will probably include the UltraFunk set of plugins)
-Edit and all with the audio rolling

If I find out more, I'll post here.

Because it hasn't been officially announced yet. Rumor is it will be announced at the AES show in Oct.

I don't think that's ever gonna happen. I hope it's not gonna happen. Cakewalks policy has always been to make a PC-only program.

Very interesting, thanks for posting Keraj. Looks exactly like Sonars current tool bars in Cool Edit Pro colours. I wonder what the "wave" is in the console view above the fx rack? - Could it be an eq curve? Built in eq at last?
Bet it still hasn't got a built in metronome ;)

I await the full spec eagerly. Cakewalk upgrade prices are usually fair.

Me too m8! I tried zooming in, but the picture is very poor resolution. I guess we'll have to wait and see. You are probably right about the metronome:D

y do you hope not? whats the big deal if they did? if they did that might mean more studios using it cuz most 'pro' studio still use mac...

That's not correct, Sir. They made a similiar version of PA9 for mac. I think it was called Metro.

Just received the new Sam Ash catalog: there's a big banner on top of Sonar 2.2 XL on page 35 that reads INCLUDES FREE UPGRADE TO SONAR 3.0

I called Sam Ash, but they didn't know when the upgrade would become available. I would guess it can't be too far away though...

Yeah... why pro studios use Mac someone I'll never know.

If the pro's don't use it because it's not a mac program, then it's their loss. ;)

I think that as long that it's a PC only program, we don't get the bugs that follows if you want a program to run on two platforms. Just ask any Cubase-user. ;)

DavidK, you're absolutely right. But Metro couldn't even open PA9-files....
