Yeah, for $179 I have to admit I am pretty happy to. For the VSampler and Sonitus suite alone I would have to pay far more than tat. I like I like I like

Hey, door hanger Guy, do you want a job in Marketing:D

F**k me, I nearly died when I saw the new logo. Go claim IPR over the moniker, sue to the highest US court:D

I have HS2002, Wavelab, Waves Gold bundle, Fruity Loops and Kontakt. I don't see any reason to upgrade.....but if I did, I know that CW have a great upgrade policy, the best in the business.:)

A/r, how can you say you aren't a big EQ user:eek: Its a must:cool:

Let's see...

$99.00 to upgrade from Sonar 2.2 to Studio Edition
$999.00 to upgrade my PIII 800 running 98SE to P4 w/ WinXP

Hey, that's only $1,098.00! I'm sure my sweet little wife won't have any problem with that...

well, it is great news that sonar 3 is coming out, but in a few months, we'll all be upgrading again to sonar 4.0.... and while im in complaining mode- i just purchased the vst adapter upgrade last month... now S3 comes equipped with it... aggra:mad:vating!!!
.....im getting it anyway
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

If this is legit, I'm going for Producer.. I just hope there is a button on the channel strip (you will have to use console view now I'm guessing) that turns the EQ/other features on and off.. ie saving some CPU on non EQ'ed channels.

AW, can you please confirm weather this is legit info?

Porter
We're live, dude: :)

Answering your question, yes, you'll be able to turn the EQ/other features on and off to save CPU.

Enjoy!

Don't be sad Jaymz and Moskus...

Dynamic Console View
SONAR 3's Console view has been completely re-engineered from the ground up to meet the needs of mixing professionals.

It's kind of like when you finally throw away that twelve year old pair of sneakers that you just could'nt part with. You're a little sad,but you know in the end ,it's for the better.:o ;)

2 questions:

1) have the pdc dropout problems been solved once and for all

2) is there a "freeze" type feature, yes or no..

Please Alex, i NEED to know:)

So, if you have Sonar 2, you still get all the plug-ins when upgrading to 3? Yes?

I was wondering what all that crap cluttering up the left hand side of the track view was about, and then I realised that its kind of like the single track console view for whatever track you have highlighted. Am I right?
Doesnt seem so much like crap anymore. :)
That could come in handy... faster, better, easier... but can you disable it?

Whoever the cakewalk dude here is needs to go though and describe exactly what some of this shit is and whats really changed.
Has the mixing math changed any, at the mix buss?

Ahh, I see the track view has the meters running vertical now, too.. I orginally wanted it that way out of being used to ProTools, but now I think I prefer horizontal better, as I can watch them all easier that way. Or so it seems.
Hmmm....

Here's the $99 question (or $229 if you go for the producer edition :) ):

What about Bus routing? Have they given us the ability to send submixes to a Bus, and then route that Bus to a master bus? That could be the thing that puts me over the edge.

shit looks like a fake mac program...i can't stand copy cats...

but i guess that what you have to do in a business sense...i hope its more stable..

Anyone know if Sonar 3 will allow me to do bulk transform of MIDI CC betwen numbers ? (eg. transform large amount of MIDI CC data 7 - volume to MIDI CC 11 - expression, etc...) ?

What about transmitting and responding to midi song position? MTC is fine for tempo but useless for integrating other hardware control.

RD

WHao, I just found this. Could my prayers be answered!!!

"Multi-port MTC and MIDI sync transmission"
"Frame-accurate SMPTE/MTC sync with auto-detection of time code"
"Transmit MIDI Time Code (MTC) and MIDI Sync to multiple output ports"

I'm sold...........................

I've gotta' have it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1. yes.
2. dude, SONAR already has a freeze-type feature, via bouncing and archiving. :)

Yes - they'll work in SONAR 3, and should work in all subsequent versions of SONAR. :)

We want that beautiful Freeze feature found in Logic 6. That would have been awesome!

But we will of course find that in Sonar 3.1 ? ;)
