Hey everyone. Chances are what I am looking for does not exist or cannot work. But anyways, are there any decent-quality small sized monitors? I don't hear too much great stuff about the Edirol's, but around that size.
The deal is I am going off to college to a dorm room in August - and I need something that will fit my room. I may already be taking a bunch of other stuff, and I probably won't be able to fit anything too big in my room.
What I was thinking, though, was if I could find some decent, small monitors and then add a good subwoofer. Since the subwoofer would be on the floor, that could be a little bigger than the other two since I'd have more space for that.
So I don't know if it's possible to get some smaller monitors with a decent low frequency response sub. I need to get down to at least 40 Hz since the bass in my music is important. It's a shame that those PS-3.1 Fostex speakers just do not sound too good, from what I hear. That would be an ideal size - and price - except it has a frequency response starting at 80 Hz!!!
I don't need something that is perfect - cause I know that I probably won't get even close with my situation. I just need something that is decent - maybe when I get home I'll fix things up properly. If you have any regular computer speakers that happen to be able to work somewhat as monitors - I know I'm really stretching things - but just in case. I just really want to take something with me to school, you know what I'm saying?
Thanks for advice in advance,
Craig
