SM7B- first impressions

Well, I got my SM7 tonight and I've started playing around with it. It does reject noise really well, and it has very noticable proximity effect. I fear it won't be a main vocal mic for me, but I'm betting it will rock on cabs and hand drums. It is the only vocal mic I've got that I can use in the control station surrounded by humming gear! I can't wait to hear this thing through a PA. I'll bet it's a good stage mic for smaller clubs.-Richie
 
I think you'll find that it's one of those mic's that sounds a lot better in a mix than it does solo.
 
Richard, I've been looking at either the SM-7 or an RE-20 or 27. any experience with a 20 or 27 to go along with that SM-7?
 
No clue, Trackrat, only what I read in the papers.-Richie
