SM57 problems

I am trouble shooting at a newly setup studio, was a bit of a shoddy set till about 3 weks ago, anyway. found a rather weird problem when trying to use SM57's i get nothing in the desk which is a makie 32 channel 8 bus desk, when going though the snake (work when i connect it directly to the desk). All other mics work with no problems at all. any ideas?

Ok, perhaps some obvious questions, but...

Do other mic's work through the snake on that channel?

Is it only on one particular channel?

Is it only on one particular circuit of the snake?

Just curious, sounds like a snake problem to me, so I would suggest trying other mics on that snake circuit and the 57 on other snake circuits.

yes i have tryed the 57's on evry channel same with the 4040's the beta they all work fine, becouse that was my first thought. I will get a new snake then see if the new one works.
