This is sort of a consumer based Karaoke based system from the guys who made Guitar Rock.

As far as the effects, is there something like this on a pro-recording targeted market sold as a VST-type software package and not with the hardware (which I don't want)?

Vocal processors have been around since the 70s. Madonna used a very high end processor made by TC Electric in the 80s. All the big acts use them now despite everyone bitching about auto-tune. (They do a whole lot more to change your voice than just autotune) Look into the TC Electronic webpage, they make a whole range of units. Boss also has one out too.

ok, thanks. I have Cubase and it has some pitch correction, etc.
