Hello everyone I just bought a KSM-27 and I love the mic but do you think that the Audigy 2 is going to degrade the sound alot? I see alot of Audigy bashing on this site but would another card really make that much of a difference? I'm not sure but if I have to get another one I will and don't bring biases just straight up facts thanks.
I use a SoundBlaster Live card next to my RME DIGI PAD. I use the SB for midi and for carrying system sounds / mp3s.
I’m using a KSM44 and plug it in to an external pre before running it to the RME card via S/PDIF light pipe and it sounds lovely.
Can the audigy supply phantom power or have you got an external supply ? If I were in your place Id get a cheap second hand pre and see if it makes a difference. I started with a Behringer Ultra Voice pro (40-60 USD second hand). This will also save where and tare on your sound card inputs.
