Should I still use Vegas Audio 2.0?

Hi, I just joined this forum.

I have the old Vegas Audio 2.0 which I never used much because it gave me problems on my old slow computer( I used Protools Free instead which worked fine on the same PC) Now I have built a new system with the latest technologies. I am an occasional music recording enthusiast and plan to do some simple 4-6 track recordings soon.

Questions:
Should I start using Vegas Audio 2.0 as is?
or
Upgrade to more current versions(video xx)?
or
Move altogther to some other product?

I know you are SF fans, but please be impartial!

Thanks
Rayan

Welcome to HR!

Have you actually tried using it on your new computer? Do you really need video editing features?

I recently went from Vegas Pro 1.0b to Vegas 5, and I love the improvements on it. But it seems for what you plan to do, Vegas 2.0 should be more than sufficient.

I personally LOVE vegas 5 for multitracking and the integration with sound forge is perfect. But Vegas 2 should work just as good I'm guessing.

Thanks for the replies. I plan to go ahead and get reacquainted with Vegas 2.0 since the Sony website says they have a free XP upgrade available, whatever that means. Then I will decide to change or upgrade.
