Any mix comments are appreciated. :o

Thanks,
Greg

Deep and meaningful lyrics:

I'm a man with a smile, I laugh at your pain
I enable addictions, I feel no shame
I ruin your party, I tell all your secrets
I crash your new car, I got no regrets

I got a shit eating grin
And I always win
A shit eating grin
You can see it on my face

I'm a man with no conscience, I'm a disgrace
I look in your eyes, I lie to your face
I earn all your trust, I lend you my ear
I play with your weakness, I prey on fear

I got a shit eating grin
And I always win
A shit eating grin
You can see it on my face

Kinda reminded me of Gigantor in the beginning..

Though I am not a big speed punk fan It's a cool tune..

Cool when it slowed down

Done in Henry Rollins "Liar" style might be fun.

Very insightful psychological analysis :laughings:

I was hearing Moody Blues "Just a Singer in a Rock n' Roll Band" and Stone's "Paint it Black"

Gerg's comps are not my cup o' tea...but the recordings and performances are rock solid. And within the confines of his tableau  he rules the realm. :)

ps...When I posted my first piles-of-doo here, Gerg was the first to help me punch my way out of cluelessness. TX Gerg!

Thanks TAE. I'm not a big Rollins solo fan, although I love me some Black Flag. :D

Thanks dude. I regularly read your detailed reviews of people's tunes in here. We need more folks like you. ;)

Sick playing. Fast stuff and raunchy. Mix sounds good. Nice one!!

Dave

Sounds great as usual. The toms seemed more panned than usual, no? They might be a bit wide on some rolls. They sound great, though. Love the wah solo!

Thanks Rami. The toms aren't panned any wider than usual. I'm using a new compressor on the drum bus which seems to make the toms pop more, but this is my first tune with it and I haven't entirely figured it out yet. :drunk:

Yeah, dude.... Love it. I haven't heard a lot of your stuff, but this is the fastest original of yours I've heard. Your timing is ... amazing.

A lot of the nuances of your recording style / preferences really, really come out on the breakdown on this one. When the bass / drum jungle beat are going at it, the song is more naked and my ears were really diggin' it. The toms sound fabulous, and the bass was just as present as it needs to be. Then the guitars enter, and ... well.. yeah.. Someday I'll figure out how to get guitars to sound so good.

Thanks for sharing!

Seems like your guitars are taking a bit more of the stage in this one. Personally, I'd like to hear more drums when all instruments are going full-on.

Great tune.

*edit* - Took a 2nd listen to this, and I gotta add - your vocals are much more in tune with this song, than with the others I've heard.

Haha, thanks. I do sing better when I'm not actually singing. :D

I did mix the rhythm guitars maybe a half db louder than I normally would. There's only 2 mono rhythm tracks that pretty much go full blast throughout the song. I liked the way they came out and I like the extra shot of fullness and energy the give to the song.

That's a freaking awesome song dude and pretty much right up my alley of the kind of stuff I like to listen to. If I'm not mistaken you do all the music and singing in most all of your songs right? If so the Dave Grohl eat your heart out. Hell of a song.

Thanks man. Yeah I do everything. I occasionally do drums for other people and collaborations on cover songs, but I keep my original songs all me. I don't need no one else fucking my shit up. :D

I had my own shit eating grin thru it all. :D

Naturally, an excellent piece of tight playin, bashing gergism here :D but I especially like the glassiness you're getting outta your bass when it was just it n the drums.

The third time thru, I had it cranked pretty good and my daughter poked her head in just to throw me "the eyebrows" and just knowing she doesn't like it makes it even better. :laughings:

and louder.
:D

Much props man. Don't think I'd change a thing.

I wouldn't call it speed punk - but then I was 18 when UK punk happened so I've heard the full gammet of speed to sludge punk.
What it is ...IS fun & well recorded & well mixed & well played & well written & well you get the idea.
Great fun Greg. I had a visual image of the skull logo from the Misfits munching on a load of poo & laughing all the way through.

Thanks dude. My chilluns don't like my tunes either. :D

Lol. Thanks Ray. Maybe there's a geographical language barrier happening here. A "shit eating grin" over here doesn't literally mean to eat shit. It's a phrase for someone who is obnoxiously smug and routinely gets away with being smarmy and selfish. Like "look at that motherfucker's shit eating grin. I hate him".

So yeah, the song is auto-biographical. :D

Punk, punkier, punkiest...!!:cool::D
This is the way I like you, buddy! I'm at work and feel like kicking my dept. head's butt after I heard this, so it's just right to me.....:drunk:
Keep kickin' that ass!

Joey :):):):)

Thanks joey. And I do totally support violence in the workplace, so have at it. :spank:

Yup. Another song that puts most of the rest of us here to shame (or me at least.)

I like what you did with the fade in effect and gang choruses on the vocals. Cool stuff you don't hear so much in punk, but subtle enough that you're not likely to be fired from punk for it.

So many of your songs are about what a terrible person you are (this one, No Class, etc.) You seem so nice on the Internet!
