Setting up a home studio - Know anything on the Tascam us-224?

Hi,

I am going to be setting up my home studio and need some advice. I've spent the last couple of weeks going over reviews and stats on different equipment and think that I'm going to get the Tascam us-224 console.

I'll be using a newer laptop with 512 ram but have yet to buy anything for the studio. I just need some seasoned advice to make sure that I'm along the right lines here.

Money is deffinatly a concearn as I have to justify my purchaces to my wife and spending $3000+ is not an option. I will only be recording one or 2 tracks at a time and a bit of midi and I want the best bang for my buck.

My proposed set up would be
tascam us-224
Behringer B2
art vocal preamp
Monitors - unsure

Anything you might be able to shed light on or ideas for better products would be cool.

get a studio projects instead of a behringer mic..

Thanks, I need to be introduced to more products. I liked what I saw about the C1 at their site and in reviews. Sounds just like what I'm looking for
