I need to set up a laptop with Acid Pro 7 on it.
I will be using the laptop for nothing except music production, using acid pro 7 and sound forge (or something similar for chopping samples up). And also waves diamond bundle plugg-ins.
I have a Edirol USB Audio Capture 24bit UA-4FX sound card.
I plan to keep the computer offline and use an external hard drive for songs and files.
I do not want to spend money on specs or memory i don't need.
Please guide me as to what i should get to have a successful creative station! ;)

According to Sony I need:
1 GHz processor (2.8 GHz recommended for HDV)
1 GB RAM
QuickTime 7.1.6 or later

Surely I need more RAM? how much Ram should I get?
Someone told me I should get i7 CPU... do i need i7 CPU?
What is the best kind of laptop/brand for music production with my chosen program and sound card?

Hope someone can help me!!! ;) cheers

You spend twenty-five hundred dollars on a plugin bundle and you're worried about an extra thirty bucks for more RAM on your computer...?

Just get the second best computer you can (or in your case, get the best you can if you want) and go.

Sonica Labs makes a great laptop specifically tweaked for audio work.

anyone else?
is an intel pentium processor good enough or should i go for one of these Intel core i3 -i7 processors?
This laptop is only for music production.

i5 or i7. It'd be silly to go anything less at this point (unless you want to be in the position of needing to upgrade it at your first software update).
