Hello. So I got myself my first audio interface and after setting it up it turned out that:
1. Sound is coming out from only left cup of my headphones (I deducted that it might be faulty adapter's fault, brand new ones are on the way)
2. Any Windows sounds (simple notifications etc.) and any VSTs (Tried multiple DAWs) are heavily distorted and I can't seem to work it out. Not only that, the sound is just fine while listening to Youtube or Spotify.
For the past few days I was trying to find a solutions and I've tried dozens of them with no success. Few of them suggested simple Windows troubleshooting and once I did that, the issue was stated as "Generic Audio Driver". Was trying to fix it as well, but also no success, and I don't know if it's even the cause of distortion. Then I plugged the interface into my laptop and the problem was the same. I'm just wondering if it's either something to do with drivers or the unit itself might be faulty. OR could the adapter be causing it?
Few more notes:
- As for adapter, headphones work on their own (with no adapter) and I tried few of them
- I don't own any studio monitors, so the only way I can check sound, is via headphones.
- I tried beta Focusrite drivers (un and reinstalling them)
- I tried every USB socket that my PC has
- Also un and reinstalling the device in Device Manager
- Recording seems to be fine. I recorded guitar into DAW and listened to it through my PC headphones (using Realtek)
- While changing from Focusrite ASIO to ASIO4ALL, the issue stays the same
Will apprecciate any help on how to fix it.
