a little backgroud: so far i've mostly done 4 track recording on flash card, minidisc, and cassette. I recently got a fostex dmt-8vl. I don't want to just save a mix, i want to save 8 tracks, incase i want to remix or fix the recordings, etc. What are my options? Are adats good/reliable, or should i update to another recorder? I'm on a budget here, and probably won't get more than an 8 track recorder. On the recorders with 40gb of storage, how do you unload those tracks? mix down stereo, or can you somehow save the full eight tracks? ... i'm really used to the fostex dmt-8vl but i'll be filling it up.
