I'm looking for a free ( hopefully ) program that will allow me to sample drum sounds into a mix. Anyone have any suggestions? Please and thank you :guitar:

KT Drum Trigger will allow you to trigger MIDI drum sounds from audio tracks for free. But you need to have samples to do that.

I'm not sure I understand what you are looking for. Please explain further. :)

I have a good kick drum sound. Im recording for someone and the sound of the kick drum is kunda bad due to what he had in his kick. I need a program that will let me take my kick sound and put it where his is. Basically sample in my kick where his is to "enhance" the sound

Hmm. Not sure I know of anything that will do that for free. You could always do it manually, but I would not recommend that time consuming task to anyone.

For a 'thank you' and a E-handshake, I could do it for you with Steven Slate Trigger. It comes with a program that you can make samples for SS Trigger to use. You would have to send me a wav of your good sounding kick, and the whole kick track to run through Trigger.

BTW, that is pretty much exactly what SS Trigger does. But it is $99 plus an Ilok.

I couldn't ask ya to do that dude. I appreciate the offer though. So this program is 100 bucks?

Seriously, I do it all the time. Well, I usually just replace live drums with samples included for members here that are having issues, but it is not that much more work. It actually takes more time to download the tracks and drag them into DAW, than it does to replace with trigger samples.

Yeah, Trigger EX is $100+Ilok. I have the full version and the upgraded deluxe samples as well. EX comes with the Trigger Instrument Editor, that allows you to record different velocities and variations of a drum for samples within its program. In other words, you can record multiple hits on a snare in various places (center, side, rim shot) and they will trigger at random depending on velocity of the original note triggered. You can also program what sample is triggered in regards to the velocity of the note sent. Like soft snare hits. If Trigger picks up a soft snare hit, it will trigger the sample of the soft snare hit you recorded. Just a matter of doing the time to record them and import them to the Editor.

If you want to do a test run, I am willing to help you make a decision. I am not trying to sell you Trigger, I just love how easy and worthy it has been for me. I'm not sure I could do what I do without it actually....

I guess i can give it a shot. Ive got nothing to lose.

PM me. Send me tracks. No problem.

Hell, I have a friend/member here that I send samples/mixes with his drum covers that are recorded in a completely un-treated room. Takes me 20-30 minutes per drum cover to deliver samples of Kick/Snare/Toms and mix them.

But, you will have to send me two of your first born if you ask for another track. lol! :)

Off to play with my baby...

So you need the good sounding kick and the kick track itself correct? And I can't give both my children. But ill give you one and naming rights for the other haha

LOL! Yeah man, just send me the kick track from the recording. Then a wav of the sample you want to use. I will likely send you multiple kick samples so you know what is possible. :)

Now, I was actually playing with my own baby. Just had to change over the laundry, and I saw your post. TTYL. :)
